Skip To My Lou (and variations)

There are oh so many songs that have been written to the tune of Skip To My Lou, and some of them are pretty special. I usually sing Love Somebody to a slightly different tune (similar to the 1947 Doris Day recording), but I’ve heard it sung in multiple ways, and its tickly, kissy, interactive fun any way you sing it.

Stick to the Glue is by children’s musician Jim Gill, whose albums are full of silliness, movement and play, and are well worth a spot on the shelf in any public library. You’ll probably want to stop between verses to pantomime the actions, or teach the sticky gestures to your group before picking up your ukulele.
